Where GM once assembled Chevys, weeds sprout up next to i-beam studs and concrete foundations.
The old GM site in Sleepy Hollow is an industrial no-man's land, but the views are breathtaking.
After roughly a decade of planning, a deal has been struck to transform the 99-acre waterfront parcel.
Nearly 1,200 units of housing, plus stores, restaurants, shops, offices, and a 45-acre park are planned.
"It's an absolute gem on the Hudson," Sleepy Hollow Village Trustee Karen Wompa told WCBS 880 reporter Sean Adams. "I mean, it's a 30-minute commute into Manhattan. It's, you know, one of the most beautiful views of the lower Hudson Valley."
The village still has to hold hearings and hazardous materials need to be remediated.
If it comes to fruition, the GM site will become a mini city on the Hudson.
There is even talk of a trolley to connect to the train station.
