Millions In The Tri-State Hitting The Roads, Skies And Rails For Holiday Weekend
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Mass transit is bracing for extra passengers on getaway day for the holiday weekend.

Metro North, New Jersey TRANSIT and the Long Island Rail Road are all adding extra trains beginning at noon today.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says it's prepared to handle the more than 11 million travelers who will use its airports, tunnels, bridges and PATH system between now and New Years.
About 92 million people will travel 50 miles or more from Friday through Jan. 2, an increase of 1.4 percent more than last year, according to AAA.

The federation of motor clubs said 90 percent will travel by car. Drivers will find gasoline prices higher than last year, but well below this year's peaks. Air travel will be down about 10 percent.
As for those holiday packages, UPS says today is the Super Bowl of package delivery.
