3 People Arrested In Murder Of Man Found Dead Under Mattress In Midtown Hotel
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Three people have been arrested in the death of a New Jersey man found dead under a mattress at a Manhattan hotel.
Twenty-eight-year-old Roderick Goodwin of Bridgeton, New Jersey was found dead at the Hilton Garden Inn early Monday. His death was ruled a homicide.
Christine O'Brien, 31, of West New York, New Jersey was arrested Thursday, police said. Twenty-seven-year-old Gabriel Pena and 28-year-old Jennifer Rodriguez, both of Brooklyn, were arrested Friday.
All face charges of second-degree murder in Goodwin's death. In addition, Rodriguez faces a first-degree robbery charge.
Police said earlier they believed the killing was linked to prostitution.
It wasn't clear if the three had attorneys who could comment on the charges.
The hotel is on West 35th Street near Penn Station in a part of Manhattan bustling with tourists and business travelers.
