Midnight Mass Continues At World Trade Center Site
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Many expected last year's Midnight Mass at the World Trade Center to be the last, but the tradition will take place one more time.

It all started on Christmas Eve in 2001 when the clean up of what was known as the pit was continuing there and and victims' families and recovery workers gathered for Midnight Mass.
"Ground Zero on September 11th, 2001 has been a benchmark moment for many New Yorkers and people around the world," said Father Brian Jordan, who has led the observance.
Jordan said he was urged to celebrate one more of these masses because the 9/11 museum is still incomplete.
It's a vibrant and tight-knit group.
"These are people I never knew before, before September 11th, 2001 and they have become very poignant, deeply meaningful friends," Jordan told WCBS 880 reporter Peter Haskell.
Jordan said there will be special prayers for the victims of superstorm Sandy and the Newtown massacre.
He insists that this will be the final gathering and said that since it's the 12th, there's Biblical significance.
"In the Old Testament, there are 12 tribes of Israel. In the New Testament, Jesus chose 12 apostles to succeed him," Jordan said.
