MIDLAND PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A sinkhole opened up in Midland Park, New Jersey Thursday night and partially swallowed a public works truck.
Officials said the hole measures about 20 feet by 30 feet, and is about 5-6 feet deep.
The truck was responding to reports of water coming out of a manhole on Woodside Avenue at the time of the accident, 1010 WINS' John Montone reported.
It turned out that raw sewage was overflowing.
The driver and passenger in the truck were not injured. No utilities were shut off, CBS2's Tracee Carrasco reported.
It was unclear late Thursday if the weather had anything to do with the accident.
CBS2's Lonnie Quinn reported strong winds were seen all around the area late Tuesday, with winds topping out at 30 in New York City, 28 in Sparta, New Jersey, 24 in Edison, New Jersey and 37 in the Hamptons on Long Island.
Heavy rain and flooding were also seen a night earlier.
