"We have the utmost respect for what these men and women do on a daily basis," Wright told WCBS 880's Peter Haskell.
The firehouse lost seven members on 9/11.
"To hear the stories that they have and the way that they remember the peers that they lost on 9/11, it's touching and it's moving," Wright said.
Firefighter John Darcy started working at Squad 18 shortly after the terror attacks and said he's appreciative of Wright's gesture.
"To the guys here, to the guys that we lost, that there's somebody who knows where he came from and he's just a down to earth kind of guy," Darcy told Haskell.
"It's a very, very nice experience to meet David Wright, he's a gentleman," Darcy said.
Wright talked to the firefighters and posed for pictures with the members of Squad 18.
