Metro-North Fixes Malfunctioning Ticket Machines
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Metro-North riders don't have to worry about making sure they've got enough cash after all. The railroad said its ticket machines at most stations were once again taking credit and debit cards, and expected the rest to be fixed by noon.
The machines stopped taking the electronic payments Friday, except at Grand Central. Travelers had to pay cash for everything.
The rail line had expected the problem to last all weekend, but it was fixed sooner than they thought.
Metro-North trains were operating on a Sunday schedule for New Year's Day.
