Police said tow bandits apparently waited until the end of a special game launch event for the new Madden NFL 13 video game at GameStop in Merrick before robbing the store just before 1 a.m. Tuesday.
A masked man armed with a handgun ordered two employees into a back room where they were bound with cables and tape.
Police said that the suspects then robbed the store of assorted games, electronic equipment, and cash before fleeing through a backdoor.
There were no injuries.
The employees were able to untie themselves and notify police, who are asking anyone with helpful information to call crime stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
The subjects are described as male blacks, both 5'10" tall with thin builds. Subject #1 was wearing a black mask, black hoodie and black pants. Subject #2 was wearing a baseball cap, black bandana across his face, black shirt and blue jeans.
