McKinney Opposes Gov. Malloy On Online Gambling
HARTFORD, CT (WCBS 880) - Gov. Dan Malloy believes a recent Justice Department legal opinion opens the door for online gambling in every state.

He says you don't turn off the internet at any state borders.
However, State Senate Republican leader John McKinney strongly disagrees and vows he and others will not allow online gambling in Connecticut.
"Gov. Malloy believes it's a good thing [and] it supports itself. But we have a disagreement and we'll be at odds on this one, but I'm going to do whatever I can do stop it," McKinney told WCBS 880 Connecticut Bureau Chief Fran Schneidau.
McKinney argues Connecticut does have the right to ban online gambling within its own borders.
McKinney is convinced that this is not an issue that cuts across party lines and so he believes there will be sufficient votes to prohibit online gambling in the state.
