NYC Mayoral Hopefuls Hit Stretch Run Before Tuesday's Primary
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Time is running out for the city's mayoral hopefuls to sway undecided voters.
The candidates are heading into the final weekend before Tuesday's primaries. Republican Joe Lhota told WCBS 880's Paul Murnane that his goals are to get as many people as possible to understand his message and to not turn to negative campaigning.
"No matter what mud is thrown at me by my opponents, it's not going to affect me in any way, shape or form," Lhota said. "In fact, they ought to see the numbers just like I'm seeing it. The mud that's being slung is working against them."

One voter on Manhattan's East Side said the political season -- and the debates especially -- were boring. She said she'll make up her mind Monday and "listen to my husband, who reads a lot more about this."
Meanwhile, some candidates are focusing on voter turnout.
"We're going to have a much better, more sophisticated get-out-to-vote operation, I believe, than any other campaign out there," City Council Speaker Christine Quinn told WCBS 880's Rich Lamb. "We've knocked on over a million doors already. That's all volunteers."
