Mayor Bloomberg's Official Portrait Hangs In City Hall
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Mayor Michael Bloomberg will forever adorn the walls of City Hall.
The soon-to-be former mayor's official portrait was unveiled Monday.
Deputy Mayor Howard Wolfson tweeted a picture of the portrait at around 8:15 a.m.
As 1010 WINS' Gary Baumgarten reported, the portrait features Bloomberg in front of the wall-less area he and his staff have worked in since shortly after he took office.
"When you can communicate with each other, you get a lot more done and you're a lot happier working there. And I think that's the message here," Bloomberg said.

Bloomberg served as mayor for 12 years, and touted some of his accomplishments on Christmas Eve, including a low murder rate, transportation improvements and the takeover of the city's school system.
"We want to whip ourselves for some reason or another, but this school system is the model in this country for what you do with a big school system and how you improve it," Bloomberg said Dec. 24.
The mayor also mentioned the steady drop in crimes since he took over at City Hall.
"If I had stood here 12 years ago and said 'we're gonna have under 315 murders,' you would have laughed me off the stage," Bloomberg said.
