LIRR, Metro-North, NJ TRANSIT Getting Service Back Up After Blizzard
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Service started to return to mass transit across the Tri-State Area on Saturday afternoon after some rail and bus service was halted by Friday's blizzard.
MTA
Subway service is running with scattered delays.
Bus service is operating but there are several weather-related diversions and detours.

LONG ISLAND RAIL ROAD
LIRR providing limited two-hourly service to and from Farmingdale on the Ronkonkoma Branch, and to and from Huntington, Babylon and Port Washington due to snow accumulation and third rail icing conditions. Service on all other branches is suspended.
"The snowstorm started off easy on Long Island but hit us really bad overnight," MTA spokesman Salvatore Arena said. "We were actually running pretty much full until midnight and then overnight we got the rest of that storm and that has knocked us for a loop."
Workers were continuing to remove snow off the tracks.

METRO-NORTH RAILROAD
Hourly service on the Harlem and Hudson lines resumed at 11 a.m.
Service on the New Haven Line between Grand Central and Stamford resumed with the 1:37 p.m. train from Grand Central and the 2:03 train from Stamford.
Service between Stamford and New Haven remains suspended until further notice. Service on the New Canaan, Danbury and Waterbury branches remains suspended until further notice.
For Sunday, Metro-North will operate a regular Sunday schedule on the Hudson and Harlem lines and the New Haven line between Stamford and GCT. Service remains suspended between Stamford and New Haven as well as on the branch lines, until further notice.

NJ TRANSIT
Bus service has been restored north of Interstate 195, including service into the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Customers can expect delays and detours due to local road conditions. NJ TRANSIT suspended all northern bus service Friday evening due to treacherous driving conditions.
Service was restored on the Morris & Essex and the Montclair rail lines at noon Saturday. This includes Midtown Direct service along the Morristown Line.
"Our crews worked around the clock, we had people in place as of last night, it really was a team effort from Gov. Christie on down. We're out there serving the Garden State once again," spokesman John Durso Jr. told CBS 2.
Customers can expect delays throughout the day but Durso stressed the biggest part of the restoration process is complete.
Systemwide cross-honoring remains in effect.

AMTRAK
Amtrak canceled all service between New York and Boston for Saturday. Springfield Shuttle service (New Haven, Conn. – Springfield, Mass.) is also cancelled. Limited service between New York and Boston will resume on Sunday.
Amtrak is operating Northeast Corridor services between New York and Washington, Empire Service between New York and Albany and Keystone Service between New York, Philadelphia and Harrisburg.
