Mash-Up Performances, New Artists The Focus Of 55th Annual Grammy Awards
LOS ANGELES (CBSNewYork) - Music's biggest night is almost here!
The Grammys will be handed out at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Sunday night and will be seen live on CBS.
R&B singer Frank Ocean is tied for the most nominations this year with six.
Ocean is up for the coveted awards like best new artist, album of the year and record of the year. The other acts with six nominations are fun., Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, Mumford & Sons, Jay-Z and Kanye West.
Other new acts like Fun. Carly Rae Jepsen and Gotye are up for some big awards at the 55th annual Grammys as well.
The Lumineers will be performing their hit, "Ho Hey" during the telecast.
"I saw Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, Beyonce and Jay-Z right in front of where we're playing," Wesley Schultz of the band told CBS 2's Bigad Shaban.

There will be about 20 performances in all during the telecast, featuring headliners like Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake and Taylor Swift.
There will also be performances featuring artists from different genres. For example, Sting will perform with Bruno Mars and Rihanna, Shaban reported.
Grammys executive producer Ken Ehrlich has been doing the show for 30 years.
"There's a freedom that an artist has that says you know I've always wanted to be with this one, or I've always wanted to sing that song, or I've always wanted to do a tribute to this artist. This is the place to do that," Ehrlich told Shaban.
Music critic Todd Martens predicts this will be a big night for new artists like Ocean.
"The Grammys are sort of really embracing a lot of the sort of unknown artists that are nominated this year and putting them on this stage, on this telecast," Martens told Shaban.
The Grammys will air on CBS 2 beginning at 8 p.m.
