Marine Park Residents Disappointed Over Cancellation Of Halloween Walk
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Children in Marine Park, Brooklyn, will have to look elsewhere for ghosts and the Headless Horsemen this Halloween.
As 1010 WINS' Glenn Schuck reported, the neighborhood's annual Halloween Walk, which dates back 30 years, has been canceled. The walk's organizers, the Marine Park Civic Association, said it can't afford to pay for the insurance to continue the event, which has drawn thousands of people each year.
The cancellation has left residents disappointed.

"I was surprised I didn't see any fliers around," one woman told Schuck. "I didn't know it had been canceled."
Marisa said she always took her children to the walk and was hoping to take her grandchildren.
"Terrible," she said. "The kids are looking forward to it every year. And people come from other neighborhoods to go to that Halloween Walk every year. My kids went their whole childhood."
