Top French Official: 'Anything Is Better Than Hillary Clinton'
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A top French official believes a Hillary Clinton presidency would lead to "world instability."
Marine Le Pen, the leader of the right-wing French political party National Front, and Donald Trump supporter, told CNN that the Democratic presidential nominee would bring "war" and "devastation" if Americans elect her president.

"For France, anything is better than Hillary Clinton, anything but Hillary Clinton," Le Pen said. "Because I think Hillary Clinton means war. Hillary Clinton means devastation. It means world instability."
Le Pen, who is against cross-border migration in the European Union and accepting refugees from the Middle East, compared herself to the Republican presidential nominee.
"We are similar because we are not part of the establishment, we are not part of the system, and we do not depend on anybody and we don't take orders from anyone," she told CNN.
Le Pen might back Trump, but French President Francois Hollande is not a fan of the billionaire.
Earlier this month, Hollande told AFP that Trump "makes you want to retch."
"His excesses make you want to retch, even in the United States, especially when — as was Donald Trump's case — he speaks ill of a soldier, of the memory of a soldier," Hollande said.
Hollande was referring to Trump criticizing Khizr and Ghazala Khan, the parents of U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan, who was posthumously awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart after he was killed in Iraq in 2004.
Hollande continued, "Democracy is also at stake, as we see more and more people tempted by authoritarianism.
"Should the American people choose Trump, there will be consequences, because a U.S. election is a global election."
A recent Monmouth University poll shows Clinton holds a seven-point lead nationally over Trump -- 46 to 39 percent.
