Mardi Gras Comes To Restaurant Row In NYC
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - There are Mardi Gras masks hanging over the bar at Bourbon Street on West 46th Street and shiny beads are everywhere.

"Nobody said Mardi Gras was pretty, but it's over-the-top gaudy," said manager Ian Montgomery on Tuesday.
He said his business is extra good on Fat Tuesday.

"We're a busy place anyway, but I gotta tell ya', on Mardi Gras, it's ten times what it is on a normal day," he told WCBS 880 reporter Peter Haskell.
Customers will find a down home Cajun diet.
"Lots of hurricanes. We got live crawfish. We have king cakes from Gambino's down in New Orleans," said Montgomery.

He says those that show up know what it's all about.
"You know, Mardis Gras is all about the last day of indulgence before Lent. So, you know, people, they come and it's a marathon. It's no sprint," he said.
If last year is any indication, Montgomery expects a line out the door and up the block for a good part of the day.
