There are homes directly behind and across the street from where a 7-Eleven is proposed in residential West Islip.
Residents are opposed, reported and that's wrong say residents.
"7-Elevens are good if they're in the right place," said one. "Very wrong, too small."
Hundreds have signed a petition and are speaking out against the planned store.
Among them is Bill Roth, who said, "They tell you they're going to put in a small store, but that doesn't mean small traffic."
