Manning Bowl III: Eli, Peyton Set To Square Off Next Season At MetLife Stadium
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Too soon to talk about the 2013-'14 football season?
Maybe so, as the regular season ended on Sunday, but the Giants' opponents have been announced for the upcoming campaign.
Of the 16 matchups on the slate, one is especially intriguing.
Eli Manning will square off with brother Peyton in East Rutherford next season when the G-Men host the Denver Broncos. It will be the third time that the brothers face off in the regular season.
Peyton defeated Eli and the Giants the first two times they met, when the older brother was a member of the Indianapolis Colts. On September 10, 2006, the Colts defeated the Giants, 26-21, in the season opener. Eli was very solid in that game, completing 20 of 34 passes for 247 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Peyton went 25-for-41 for 276 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
Manning Bowl II came four years later, on September 19, 2010. Indianapolis defeated New York behind Peyton's three-touchdown, 255-yard performance. Eli completed just 13 of 24 passes that day for 161 yards, two touchdowns and a pick.
The rest of Big Blue's home schedule will include games against Dallas, Washington, Philadelphia, Green Bay, Minnesota, Seattle and Oakland.
New York will travel to Dallas, Washington, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Carolina, Kansas City and San Diego for its road games.
The dates and times of the aforementioned contests will be released in April.
