Mandatory Evacuation Ordered By 6 P.M. For Low-Lying Parts Of Brick Township
BRICK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- With a nor'easter forecast to sock coastal communities especially hard on Wednesday, the Brick Township Office of Emergency Management has issued a mandatory evacuation for all residents in low-lying waterfront areas of town.
Residents in the evacuation zones were supposed to be out by 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The evacuation orders came a little more than a week after Sandy forced many residents out of their homes.
The evacuation orders are in place for the following areas:
• The Midstreams neighborhood east of Jordan Road
• The area of Island Drive in Cedarcroft
• North & South Drives in Metedeconk
• Princeton Avenue east of Beaver Dam Road
• Cedarbridge Manor East of Lions Lane
• Vanada Woods
• Eagle Pass
• Sandy Point
• Tilton Road
• Cranberry Cove
• Swan Point Park including Beaton and Gale roads
• Baywood East of Pilot Drive and Mandolay Drive
• Cherry Quay South of Tiller Lane
• Sailors Quay off of Pleasant Drive, North Pier and South Sailors Quay
• Waterfront Property in Mallard Point
• Seaview Drive and Seaview Avenue in Seaview Village
• Shore Acres
• Seawood Harbor
• Waterfront Property in Bay Harbor.
Front-end loaders continued piling possessions destroyed by Sandy into huge piles on the sidewalks across Brick on Tuesday.
Many of the homes in the town were left badly damaged or worse in the storm.

A Point Pleasant Beach homeowner who has been staying with friends in Brick since her home burned down in the spring was displaced again because of flooding from Sandy. The woman will now have to evacuate in advance of the nor'easter.
"It can't get any worse, that's for darn sure," she told WCBS 880's Jim Smith. "Round three is getting a little hard for me, but we'll survive."
Most homes remained without power or gas making it hard to be home anyway, so residents told Smith there is not much to evacuate.
"You know what, I know someone's watching out for me because if we can survive all this, and I just found a penny heads up, so I'm optimistic," another resident told Smith.
Anyone whose home does not fall into the mandatory evacuation area, but sustained damage in Superstorm Sandy, was also encouraged to evacuate.
The nor'easter was expected to bring about 1 inch of rain, wind gusts of 30 to 60 mph, and storm surges to the area Wednesday.
