Man Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Chelsea Hit-And-Run
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 22-year-old man was struck and killed early Saturday in Chelsea near the Hudson River.
Police on Saturday night were still looking for the driver, who did not stop after apparently slamming into a New Jersey man near the junction of Twelfth Avenue and 23rd Street at 2:55 a.m.

Officers found the man unresponsive at the scene. Paramedics took Andrew Quinn of Morris Plains, N.J. -- to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Quinn, a recent graduate of Cornell's School Of Hotel Administration, was struck in the crosswalk by a southbound vehicle on Twelfth Avenue – a broad roadway that comprises part of the West Side Highway in the area.
Pedestrians walking near Chelsea Piers told CBS 2's Steve Langford that when traffic is heavy the intersection is safe, but that conditions at night can become extremely dangerous.
"They do need to do something about it, I mean how many people are going to die?" said Upper West Side resident Susan Scheff.
As 1010 WINS' Gary Baumgarten reported, Quinn's distraught mother, Linda, hoped someone would come forward and confess, or identify the driver.
"Somebody may have seen something, or one of this person's friends will see damage for the car – because there has to be some kind of damage to the car for the impact to be so great to kill him instantly, is what I'm thinking," she said.
Quinn's mother said passersby tried to revive her son, but to no avail.
"There were four people on the street somewhere who helped him, and one person gave him mouth to mouth, but it was already too late," she said.
