Man Struck, Killed By SUV On Upper East Side
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An 85-year-old man was struck and killed by a sport-utility vehicle Tuesday evening on the Upper East Side.
Richard Griffin, of Staten Island, was walking east along 69th Street and trying to cross York Avenue, when he was struck by a gold Jeep Liberty headed north on York Avenue, police said.
Griffin was rushed to New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The driver of the SUV remained on the scene, and no charges were expected, police said.
