Man Struck, Killed By Car On The FDR
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was struck and killed by a car early Saturday on Franklin D. Roosevelt East River Drive.
As 1010 WINS' Gene Michaels reported, police were dispatched at 1:07 a.m. to the FDR near the 62nd Street entrance, and found the 23-year-old man -- later identified as Jason Morales of Brooklyn -- lying in the center northbound lanes with severe body trauma.
The unidentified man was taken to Metropolitan Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the 1993 blue Honda sedan that struck the victim remained at the scene, and no criminality is suspected, police said.
One neighbor, Alicia, was a little upset when she heard the news.
"Oh no, it's sad," she said.
This was the third time this month someone has been struck on the FDR. Alicia said she has not witnessed any such accidents.
"Not on this side," she said. "I enter on 63rd Street."
On Feb. 11, a woman was seriously injured trying to cross the Drive at Houston Street. She was hospitalized.
And on Feb. 3, a 28-year-old man was hit by a vehicle after he tried to sprint across the FDR after a few drinks.
Alicia had some words of advice for anyone who might consider running across the Drive.
"Don't do it," she said. "Stay alive."
