Man Shot, Wounded By Police In The Bronx
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) Police shot and wounded a man in the Bronx Monday evening.
The incident happened around 5:45 p.m. Monday at 144th Street and College Avenue in the Bronx, police said.
Officers were in the area when they heard and saw shots being fired by a suspect, police said. Two officers found the suspect, who allegedly pointed a gun at them, police said.
Officers shot a 19-year-old male suspect in the elbow, and he was taken to Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, police told WCBS 880. His condition was reported as stable.
Police told WCBS 880 the officer involved was "fine."
A gun was recovered at the scene, police said.
The incident was one of at least two police-involved shootings Monday evening. Police also shot and killed a man in the Kensington section of Brooklyn shortly after 8 p.m., after responding to a fight in which a man was stabbed and also died. A woman was also injured in the incident.
