Man Shot Dead In East New York, Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was shot and killed early Sunday in the East New York section of Brooklyn.
Police were dispatched just before 3:30 a.m. Sunday to the corner of Hendrix Street and Liberty Avenue in Brooklyn. Officers found a 22-year-old man with gunshot wounds to the torso, police said.
Paramedics took the victim to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The victim was identified as Wayne Elliot, of the Brownsville section of Brooklyn.
A gun was recovered at the scene, and a person was taken into custody. No charges had been filed as of Sunday afternoon, and the investigation was ongoing.
