MTA: Person Dies After Jumping In Front Of 6 Train, Residual Delays Expected
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Authorities say a person has died after jumping in front of a subway train on Manhattan's Upper East Side.

The incident occurred around 7:57 a.m. Wednesday at the 77th Street and Lexington Avenue stop.
According to the MTA, the victim jumped in front of a Brooklyn Bridge-bound 6 train.
The victim, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Southbound rush-hour service was affected. The southbound 6 train line was rerouted to the express tracks between 125th and 42nd Streets. The southbound Number 2 line trains were also affected.
Transit officials say the male victim landed beneath the second of four cars in the station. They said the position of his body made it difficult for responders to remove it.
According to the MTA, regular service has resumed with extensive delays.
The incident is under police investigation.
