Man Killed In Palisades Parkway Crash
ORANGEBURG, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- One man was killed in a multi-car crash late Wednesday that left the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Rockland County closed for more than eight hours.
Just before midnight, a car traveling at a high rate of speed triggered the three-car collision, went off the Palisades' northbound lanes near Exit 6, hit a tree and split into two pieces.
The car was destroyed beyond recognition, Chris Jackson, first assistant fire chief with the Orangeburg Fire Department, told WCBS 880's Sean Adams.

"One section was in the median," Jackson said of the car. "The other was in the southbound lanes."
The victim was Justin Goings, 25, of Haverstraw, The Journal News reported. He was the passenger in a 2008 Infiniti, the paper said. The car's driver was reportedly one of two people who suffered minor injuries.
"It was very chaotic, obviously," Jackson said of the scene after the crash. "There were some heavily damaged vehicles still in the lane, vehicles facing the wrong direction in some of the lanes, both northbound and southbound."
