Man Killed In Fiery Bronx SUV Crash
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was killed early Sunday morning after the sport utility vehicle he was driving struck an elevated train platform post and burst into flames in the Bronx, police said.
The accident occurred just after midnight at West 240th Street and Broadway in Kingsbridge. The man, who was driving a 2011 Isuzu Rodeo, slammed into the No. 1 train tracks over Broadway and his vehicle immediately caught fire.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Amateur video captured the horror of the scene, with one person saying: "I see the person! I see the person! Oh my God!"
Police continued to investigate Sunday evening and had not released the victim's name.
