Man Killed After Slamming Into Utility Pole On Staten Island
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man is dead after his vehicle struck a utility pole early Tuesday in the Mariners Harbor section of Staten Island.
Police were called around 3:30 a.m. to Walker Street, near the intersection with the perpendicular Walker Drive, on Staten Island.
The driver – identified as Christen Bailey, 25 – was headed south on Walker Street in his 2001 black Kia sedan when he crossed over Walker Driver and hit the utility pole opposite 340 Walker St., police said.
Police found Bailey's body inside the vehicle with trauma, and he was rushed to Richmond University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The investigation continued late Tuesday.
