Man Indicted In Connection With Police-Involved Shooting
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – An emotionally disturbed man at the center of an incident that led police to open fire near Times Square, injuring two women, has been indicted in connection with the case.
As WCBS 880's Irene Cornell reported Wednesday, Glenn Broadnax has been indicted for assault for allegedly causing a commotion that resulted in police firing on innocent bystanders.

Broadnax's attorney, Rigodis Appling, asked the court to release him due to his innocence, citing videos taken by bystanders purportedly showing him running around in traffic disoriented and scared, Cornell reported.
Appling said Broadnax had no weapons when police fired. "The black object in his hand was his wallet. He had no idea his conduct would cause police to shoot at him and others. He was brought down with a stun gun," Appling said.
The judge refused to release Broadnax, citing his prior criminal history.
