Man Held Without Bail In Mahopac Murder
MAHOPAC, N.Y. (CBS 2) – Police charged a man with murder in the stabbing death of his wife in Putnam County.
After finding 19-year-old Gloria Zhingri dead inside an apartment at the back of her parents' home in Mahopac early Friday morning, police investigated and arrested her husband, 25-year-old Paul Amay.
Police say Zhingri the apartment with Amay, who is being held without bail.
Neighbors said police were on the scene Friday before sunrise.
"We get up at 4:30. We leave by 5:30 and they were already here and we found out there was a homicide," neighbor Angela Stanton said.
Relatives said the couple had been married for about a year.
