Man Found Dead In Bed-Stuy, Reportedly In Tipped-Over Shopping Cart
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was found dead in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn early Sunday, reportedly in a tipped-over shopping cart.
Around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, police responded to 750 Madison St. in Brooklyn and found the man unconscious and unresponsive. He had suffered trauma to the torso, according to police.
The man's body was lying in a tipped-over shopping cart, and was covered in part by a camouflage bag, according to a New York Post report.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity had not been released as of Sunday afternoon pending family notification, police said.
The New York City Medical Examiner's office must conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of the man's death.
Investigators believe the man likely died nearby and someone tried to haul his body away in a shopping cart, but gave up and tipped the cart on its side, the New York Post reported.
