Man Dies After Bronx Shooting; 3 Suspects To See Upgraded Charges
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Charges were expected to be upgraded against three suspects Monday, after a man died of his wounds following a shooting last week in the Bronx.
Daryl Fontnel, 33, was found shot in the left side of his head at 6:07 p.m. this past Thursday, in front of the building at 2132 Mohegan Ave. in the West Farms section of the Bronx.
Paramedics took Fontnel to St. Barnabas Hospital Bronx in critical, but stable, condition.
But at 3:43 p.m. Sunday, Fontnel, of 75 Mosholu Pkwy. in the Bronx, died at the hospital, police said.
Three men already have been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting. They are Hector Santos, 32, of the Bronx; Ruben Velez, 28, of the Bronx; and Hector Lebron, 41, of Manhattan.
The men were expected to see upgraded charges since Fontnel has died, police said. Police did not specify the precise charges against the men.
