Man Dies After Being Rescued From Fire In Harlem Housing Development
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man has died after being rescued from a fire in the Taft Houses development in Harlem.
Police and firefighters were called at 4:14 a.m. Monday to a public housing building at 1385 Fifth Ave., after a fire broke out in a second-floor apartment.
Once the fire was out, firefighters found the 30-year-old man in cardiac arrest, police said.
Paramedics took the man to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity had not been released as of Monday afternoon, pending family notification.
The cause of the blaze was under investigation by the Fire Marshal Monday afternoon.
