Man, Boy Shot And Wounded Near Astoria Public Housing Development
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man and a teenage boy were wounded Thursday afternoon outside the Astoria Houses public housing development in Queens.
The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. at 27th Avenue and Eighth Street in Queens, police said.
The victims were a 30-year-old man, who was left in critical condition after being shot in the leg, and a 15-year-old boy, who was in serious, but stable, condition, police said.

Both were taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center, according to a published report.
Sources told 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria the suspects fled in a car and then got out and ran after they got into an accident with another vehicle at 21st Street just north of Astoria Boulevard in Queens.
One man was in police custody Thursday evening. Police told D'Auria the suspect had a gun on him.
Authorities will now conduct tests on the weapon to determine whether it was the one used in the shooting, D'Auria reported.
Police said they're investigating a motive but that they are aware the area is prone to drug violence.
