Man Avoids Being Hit By Oncoming Train After Falling Onto Subway Tracks
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) - A man who fell onto the subway tracks Sunday afternoon somehow avoided being struck by an oncoming train.
City officials said the man fainted and fell onto the track at the Times Square station.
MTA officials tell the Daily News of New York the victim suffers from high blood pressure and fell at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
A train came into the station and rolled over the man, but he avoided contact with it and an electrified rail that can be deadly.
Emergency crews took him to a local hospital. His condition was unknown.
Subway service returned to normal shortly after the incident.
