NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A man has been arrested at John F. Kennedy International Airport for an apparent security breach.
The Port Authority told WCBS 880 an American Airlines passenger was waiting at Gate 14 around 3 p.m. Thursday and apparently wanted to smoke a cigarette.
The man went through an alarmed door that led to a restricted area of JFK where the planes park but was spotted immediately by airline employees, according to the Port Authority.
The suspect then took off, but the American Airlines workers chased after him and grabbed him around Gate 6, the Port Authority told WCBS 880.
Port Authority Police arrived and arrested the man for the security breach.
