Mahwah Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Friend's 7-Year-Old Daughter
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A New Jersey man has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl.
On April, 1 Tomas Marin-Martinez, 49, of Mahwah, was arrested near a theater in Suffern, N.Y., after authorities said he sexually assaulted the child in the home of a female friend, authorities said.
The victim's mother told police she walked into her home and found Marin-Martinez in the process of sexually assaulting her daughter.
When she confronted Marin-Martinez, he fled the home, authorities said. He was arrested later that evening in New York.
Marin-Martinez was charged with aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He is being held in Rockland County pending an extradition hearing.
