Queens Man Accused Of Attacking Woman On Lower East Side

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A Queens man was facing charges Friday, in the attempted rape of a woman on the Lower East Side.

Sean Walker, 45, has been charged with first degree sexual abuse, police said.

According to authorities, at around 3 a.m. near Stanton and Suffolk streets, Walker was spotted taking off his pants and underwear and then lying on top of an unconscious 21-year-old woman. He attempted to pull off her shorts, police said.

A passerby intervened and he ran off.

The victim was taken to an area hospital and was treated and released.
