Flash Flood Warning For Long Island

UPTON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for parts of Long Island and is warning drivers to stay away from flooded roads.

The flash flood warning for parts of Suffolk County was in effect from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

There was also a flood advisory in both Nassau and Suffolk counties until 3:30 p.m.

The weather service says thunderstorms dumped up to 4 inches of rain in some Suffolk County communities Saturday.

A section of Route 110 was closed because of flooding in Huntington Station.

Videos posted on social media show cars wading through several inches of rain on the Long Island Expressway.
