2 Killed In Long Island Head-On Crash
RONKONKOMA (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police say two people in a pick-up truck died in a head-on crash with a car on a Long Island road.
The wreck happened in Ronkonkoma late Saturday night. Police say 33-year-old Brian Mullady was driving a Dodge pickup on Smithtown Avenue when it crossed into oncoming traffic just before hitting a Cadillac Escalade.
Mullady and a passenger in the Escalade, 19-year-old Andrea Giattino, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Escalade, 23-year-old Justin Quaranta, was injured and taken to the hospital. He was treated and released.
Police are investigating the accident. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. No charges have been filed.
