Long Island Fisherman Push For Easing Of Regulations
FREEPORT, NY (CBSNewYork) - Thousands of fishermen are converging on Washington today trying to ease regulations that they say are strangling their industry, and those on Long Island support the effort.

Fishermen on the docks of Freeport say federal restrictions on what and how many fish they can catch are sinking their industry.
"Certain kinds of fish, there's plenty of them and they have them so restricted that that they should relax some of the restrictions on the ones that are plentiful," said that professional angler.
He was talking about sea bass and dogfish.
He says the quotas are making it tough to make a living.
"There's just so many. They should let you catch some," he said.
He says the restrictions are putting the business out of business.
