"It's going to be a better boardwalk than it was. I'll be happy when I can ride my bike up there," a resident told WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs. "I want the whole boardwalk."
Beachgoerrs said they appreciated being able to enjoy their new boardwalk, even for a short while.
"It's very delightful, I'm going to go jump around and dance over there," one woman told Xirinachs.
The 2.2-mile boardwalk, which was destroyed by superstorm Sandy, is expected to be ready for the crowds by November.
