NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The extreme heat has settled over the Tri-State area, with temperatures expected to soar into the 90s through at least Friday.
Experts advise staying indoors in the air conditioning and drinking plenty of water.
But for some, cooling off is not always possible while on the job.

The maintenance supervisor told WCBS 880's Paul Murnane that if you have to be outside, manning a power washer makes it bearable.

Overall, the morale on staff is good, said the supervisor.
