Local Fans Stocking Up And Getting Fired Up For Super Bowl Sunday
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- The Tri-State Area may not have a team playing, but local fans still have a rooting interest for Sunday's big game.
Some are stocking-up for Super Bowl parties. Others are ready to cheer-on a hometown hero from New Rochelle.
It was Super Bowl mania Friday at the Stop & Shop in New Rochelle, where the talk was all about Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, who went to New Rochelle High School and Rutgers University.

Eileen Fener went to high school with Rice.
"I know he still goes back to the high school and I know he bought the football team a bunch of stuff this year to celebrate," Fener told CBS 2's Cindy Hsu.
Along with loading up her cart for her Super Bowl party, Fener said she's going all out.
"I even have my nails painted for the Ravens, black and purple for the Ravens," Fener said.
Mahaj Everett, 11, said Rice is a role model and helped his Youth Tackle League.
"Because when I played football in YTL, he gave money -- $100 for everyone to buy food and all that," Everett said.
At Beechmont Tavern, where the Rice love fest was in high gear, the orders were flying in for fried chicken wings. On a normal Sunday the establishment sells about 1,000 wings, but for Super Bowl Sunday?
"Between 8,000, 9,000 and 10,000 wings will go out the door on Sunday," said Beechmont Tavern's Richard Chrapek.
The big game also means big business for local bars.
At Finnerty's in the East Village they've been pre-selling red wristbands to guarantee a spot inside, where it's all about the 49ers.
Bartender Brett Molik said they even have a special shot in honor of coach Jim Harbaugh. called the "Harbomb," which is made with Red Bull, vodka and a splash of cherry juice.
Molik said every time her team scores a touchdown, it will be "Harbomb's away."
