Living Large: Inside A French Manor In Old Westbury
OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (CBS 2) -- In the latest edition of CBS 2's Living Large, reporter Emily Smith got a look inside a home in one of the nation's wealthiest neighborhoods on Long Island.
The French Manor in Old Westbury has all the bells and whistles one could imagine. No expense has been spared starting with the winding 1.5 mile driveway leading to the granite masterpiece.
The home is all about a series of archways leading to different rooms, including the Sunny Great Room with a stone fireplace and ebony-stained Herringbone French oak flooring.
The most used spot in the home is the kitchen. It has a huge center island topped with 2-inch slabs of marble and Venetian plaster gives the walls a marble dust finish.
The master bedroom has a granite fireplace and French doors to the backyard. There's also a full marble bath and a shower hidden behind a shutter door.
A sweeping circular staircase winds through the center of the home, even to the basement level. The home even features a roller hockey rink.
The house was built in 2008 and the owners of the home say they designed it themselves one night on a napkin.
