Livestrong: We Expect Armstrong To Be 'Completely Truthful And Forthcoming'
AUSTIN, Texas (CBSNewYork/AP) — They want the truth, and nothing but the truth!
The Livestrong charity that Lance Armstrong founded said that it expects the disgraced cyclist was "completely truthful and forthcoming" in his interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Armstrong admitted to Winfrey that he used performance-enhancing drugs during his career after years of denials. The interview taped on Monday is scheduled to be broadcast Thursday and Friday.
Armstrong founded the charity in 1997, but stepped down as chairman and left the board of directors late last year after a U.S. Anti-Doping Agency report detailed a complex doping program on Armstrong's U.S. Postal Service teams.
Armstrong was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles and banned from sport for life.
In a statement on Wednesday morning, Livestrong said it had "charted a strong, independent course forward" and remained confident about its future.
