Charlotte Bacon, Little Girl Killed In Newtown Massacre, Had Wanted To Be Veterinarian Since Age 2
NEWTOWN, Conn. (CBSNewYork) -- Charlotte Bacon, one of the 20 children killed in the elementary school massacre in Newtown, Conn., was remembered by her family Sunday for her smile and energy, and her dreams of becoming a veterinarian.
Charlotte was described by her parents – Joel and JoAnn Bacon – as "an extraordinarily gifted 6-year-old who filled her family each day with joy and love. The family will forever remember her beautiful smile, her energy for life, and the unique way she expressed her individuality usually with the color pink."
Charlotte had a wide variety of interests she had cultivated since toddlerhood, her parents said.
"Charlotte never met an animal she didn't love, and since the age of two wanted to be a Veterinarian. She also enjoyed practicing Tae Kwon Do weekly with her dad and brother (Guy) where she relished kicking and throwing punches," the Bacon family said.
She "has left a place in her entire extended family's hearts that will never be replaced," her family said.
Adam Lanza, 20, first killed his own mother, than opened fire on two classrooms at the school Friday, killing 20 children and six adults before taking his own life.
In addition to Charlotte, the child victims are identified as:

• Ana Marquez-Greene, 6;
• Dylan Hockley, 6;
• Madeleine Hsu, 6;
• Catherine Hubbard, 6;
• Chase Kowalski, 7;
• Jesse Lewis, 6;
• James Mattioli, 6;
• Grace McDonnell, 7;
• Emilie Parker, 6;
• Jack Pinto, 6;
• Noah Pozner, 6;
• Caroline Previdi, 6;
• Jessica Rekos, 6;
• Avielle Richman, 6;
• Benjamin Wheeler, 6;
• Allison Wyatt, 6.
The adult victims were:
• Rachel Davino, 29;
• Dawn Hochsprung, 47, the principal of the school;
• Anne Marie Murphy, 52;
• Lauren Russeau, 30;
• Mary Sherlach, 56, the school psychologist who planned to retire next year;
• Victoria Soto, 27, a first-grade teacher.
