LIRR Service Restored On Port Jefferson Branch Following Earlier Suspension
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Long Island Rail Road says service is restored on the Port Jefferson Branch after an earlier suspension Tuesday morning.
Service had been suspended in both directions between Huntington and Port Jefferson due to an unauthorized person on the tracks being struck by a train east of the Huntington Station. Service was back about two hours later.
Customers were being advised to use the Ronkonkoma or Montauk branches.
