Limited NJ TRANSIT Rail Service Resumes Friday; Trains Will Also Run To New York Penn Station
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Three days after Superstorm Sandy, some NJ TRANSIT rail service will be back on track to end the work week, with the situation improving by the hour.
Late Thursday night, NJ TRANSIT spokesman John Durso told 1010 WINS that "New Jersey Transit rail service will again be rolling into New York's Penn Station."
Durso said the trains will operate on a limited schedule, which will be posted on the transit agency's website.

Earlier the agency had announced restoration of service along the Northeast Corridor between Trenton Transit Center and Newark Penn Station, North Jersey Coast Line between Woodbridge and Newark Penn Station, and Raritan Valley Line between Raritan and Newark Penn Station.
NJ TRANSIT has also extended the validity period for October monthly passes until Wednesday, Nov. 7 for customer convenience amid the storm damage.
