LI Woman Arrested For Driving While Intoxicated With Two Children In Her Car
NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- A Wyandanch, Long Island woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated with two children in her car on Friday night, according to Suffolk County Police.
Patrol Sergeant Jay Veronko pulled over Mary Kimbrough, 64, on Commack Road in Commack when he noticed a loud noise coming from her 2004 Honda. Upon further investigation it was determined that the vehicle was missing a tire and that Kimbrough had been driving on a metal rim. In her back seat were a 9-year-old and 11-year-old who had been using a cell phone to call relatives.
Kimbrough was determined to be intoxicated and placed under arrest. She was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a child, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated With a Child Passenger 15 Years Old or Younger commonly known as Leandra's law, and Driving While Intoxicated.
